Papapetrou Michail



Michail Papapetrou, born in 1980 in Athens (Greece), studied piano, music theory at the Greek Conservatory and Musicology at the University of Athens. Furthermore, he studied Orchestral Conducting by Bruno Weil and K.v.Wildemann at the Music University of Munich.
He has conducted the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the String Orchestra of Heilbronn, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bad-Reichenhall, the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colours, the String Orchestra of Ingolstadt a.o. He was also Finalist at the Mitropoulos Conducting Competition of 2010. He worked as piano accompanist of G.F.Haendel’s “Alessandro” and J.A.Hasse “Siroe, re di Persia”/ Armonea Atenea, George Petrou. He also worked for the world premiere of Nicollo Piccinis “Gli amanti macherati” in Detmold. He worked as piano accompanist for the Bavarian Adademy of Theatre, the National Opera of Greece and the European Opera Center. He was piano accompanist and assistant conductor of the world premiere of “Kreatur 3” of P.Koezeghy and “Das Gesetz” of S.Corbett at the Avand Garde Festival of Munich. Furthermore, he worked as pianist at master classes of Jane Henschel and Laurent Pillot. He speaks English, German and Italian fluently.
