Diamantis Alexandros

Alexandros Diamantis was born in 1983 in Athens and studied the piano and Music Theory at the National Conservatory (Athens Greece). He has also studied Musicology at the University of Athens and studies since 2007 Orchestra Conducting at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” Munich, in the class of Professor Bruno Weil (Bachelor with grade excellent and Masterstudies) with a scholarship of the Academy of Athens. Simultaneously he works on his Phd on the subject “The Ancient Greek Tragedy in the Western European Opera of the Neoclassic”.
He works as a piano accompanist (Repetitor) at the Bayerische Philharmonie (Munich) and at various productions of the opera of Athens (Zauberflöte of Mozart, Il Barbiere di Siviglia of Rossini, Die lustige Witwe of Lehar and Un Ballo in Maschera of Verdi) and at the international production of Cosi fan tutte of Mozart at the castle of Weikersheim (Germany).
He conducts the various ensembles of the “Bayerische Philharmonie”, with which he was on tour in 2010 in 9 cities of South-Korea and is Guest-Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of the University of Athens and of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Athens. He has also conducted the Georgian Chamber Orchestra of Ingolstadt, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Jalas Chamber Orchestra Finnland, the Bad-Reichenhall Philharmonie and the “Ensemble Octapus for modern music”. In July 2011 he worked as an assistant conductor at the international production of Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte” in the castle of Weikersheim (Germany). After rehearsal trials by the “Ergon Ensemble for Modern Music”(Athens) and the “Philudiker” (Munich) he was elected directly from the Orchestra members Principal Conductor of the two orchestras.
In 2010 he won the Richard Wagner scholarship. He speaks English, German, French and Italian fluently and lives from 2007 in Munich Germany.
