Golesorkhi Anooshah
Baritone
Born in Persia, a resident of Southern California and Munich, Germany as well as a citizen of the U.S., Anooshah Golesorkhi made his operatic debut in the role of Amonasro in Opera Pacific’s Aida.

throughout Europe and North America, including the Metropolitan Opera whose roster he joined as Nabucco. He continued his association with the Metropolitan Opera in Tosca, Rigoletto, Sly, Otello, I Vespri Siciliani and returned there again as Amonasro in Aida as well as Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana.

Amongst other performances Mr. Golesorkhi’s recent calendar saw him in Frankfurt as Tabarro’s Michele, Stuttgart as Scarpia, Norway for Count di Luna in Trovatore, the high priest in Samson et Delilah and Nabucco, Rigoletto (Japan Tour) and Jokanaan in Salome with the Teatro del Opera of Rome, in both Cavalleria and Pagliacci as well as Nabucco and Rigoletto in Berlin. He was Scarpia in Spain, Amonasro in Sicily, Rigoletto in Basel, the 4 evil characters of Hoffmann in Norway, both Germont and Miller in Leipzig as well as Giacomo in Verdi’s Giovanna D’Arco in a new Giancarlo Del Monaco production of the opera) and Jack Rance (Fanciulla) in Taiwan and Israel.
Mr. Golesorkhi has recently returned from Amonasro in Aida (Australia), and will, this season, undertake Nabucco in Holland, Traviata in Leipzig, Tabarro in Frankfurt, Samson and Delilah in Switzerland, Otello and Butterfly in Norway as well as Scarpia in India.
Mr. Golesorkhi will undertake the role of Amonasro with Maestro Metha in Florence and will be seen as Agamemnon in a new Konwitchny production of Iphigenie auf Taudis in Leipzig.
Mr. Golesorkhi with made his Italian debut in 2006 as Nabucco in Cagliari. Past performances have included the Vienna State Opera (Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana), San Francisco Opera (title role in Arshak II), Rigoletto, Nabucco, Aida, Tonio in Pagliacci as well as Alfio in Cavalleria at the Deutscheoper Berlin; Macbeth in Hamburg, Renato in Ballo at the Miami Opera as well as Vienna performances of Germont in Traviata.
He was Rigoletto in Athens, Simone Boccanegra and Paolo in Madrid, Michonnet in Adriana Lecouvreur with the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall; Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera in Malta, Sancho Panza in Don Quichotte and Sharpless in Madama Butterfly in Nice.
Mr. Golesorkhi has just returned from performances of Tosca in Taiwan and sang the role of Barnaba with Aprile Millo and Marcello Giordani in a Carnegie hall Concert of La Gioconda.
Last seasons has see him as Amonasro and Alfiio at the Metropolitan Opera, Jack Rance in Israel, in both Cavalleria and Pagliacci in Berlin, Telremund in Wagner’s Lohengrin, Scarpia, Amonasro and Figaro in the Barber of Seville in Norway, as Jago and Nabucco in Copenhagen, Renato in Ballo in Miami, Michele in Tabarro in Washington as well as in a new production of Rigoletto in Basel. Mr. Golesorkhi was recently heard in concert in Frankfurt with Roberto Scandiuzzi.
Other recent performances include Tosca at the Royal Albert Hall in London; Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera and the title role of Nabucco for the Koblenz Festival in Germany; Andrea Chenier in Nice; Nabucco, Macbeth, Le Villi and Cavalleria Rusticana in Norway; Macbeth in Hamburg and Hannover; Il Trovatore and Aida in Dusseldorf; Nabucco, Queen of Spades and Samson and Delilah in Bonn; La Traviata in Mannheim; and Il Tabarro in Kassel. He was Shaklovity in Khovantchina with the San Francisco Opera; the High Priest in Samson with the Opera de Montreal; Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor in Caracas; Iago in Otello at the Prague Staatsoper, Norway, New Zealand and again in Las Palmas; Sharpless and Ford in Nice; Posa, Macbeth, Nabucco and Iago in Bergen (Norway) and Barnaba in St. Gallen. Mr. Golesorkhi was also in Israel for an all Verdi gala concert and broadcast with the Jerusalem Symphony.
Mr. Golesorkhi has performed extensively in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, Venezuela, the Czech Republic, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and was featured as the “Cover Artist” of the prestigious German Opera magazine “Orpheus”
He was also invited to perform the role of the High Priest of Dagon in the newly independent country of Eritrea (the first opera performed in this newly independent African nation); as well as the title role of Nabucco during the first all-race elections in the Republic of South Africa, where he also performed in the gala concert celebrating the swearing-in ceremonies of the newly elected Mandela Government leaders.
